D10S FAQ

It has been confirmed with 100% certainty that it is an 8-core chipset. This can be verified on the HiSilicon website.
Diagnostic software may show only four cores for the following reasons:
  • Different diagnostic applications use different low-level data-reading methods and may only detect the four performance cores, which are frequency-adjustable.
  • The four efficiency cores follow the frequency strategy of the performance cores and cannot normally be read by standard diagnostic software.
  • The solution provider and HiSilicon have discussed the issue and are evaluating a low-level code rewrite that would allow users to detect the other four cores.
  • The official HiSilicon webpage can be provided to customers as authoritative evidence.

It is USB 2.0. The maximum supported external hard-drive capacity is 2TB, and the USB output current is 500mA. Drives exceeding this range may not receive enough power, similar to external drives that require dual-USB power on a computer.
A USB flash drive or external hard drive formatted as `FAT32` is recommended. Low-quality external drives may have a high startup-current surge and may not be recognized.
